The project Workbook: Pustijerna began with a research trip to Dubrovnik in 2019 at the invitation of ARL Dubrovnik. Our starting point is Pustijerna, an area located within the city walls, in the southeastern part of the city. Once a representative residential area boasting Gothic and Baroque palaces, it was repurposed as a Baroque garden after the earthquake of 1667 and, in more recent history, a basketball court.The publication takes the form of a workbook, a proposal offering a series of small destabilisations of images and normative narratives using photographs, scans, archival documents, invented narratives, possible outcomes of events, written records, and observations – collected tasks that are not all completed, but, at least, are listed and named.

This is a series of possibilities or references that we have created for ourselves and for others.
